Coming into this workshop without any prior experience with Android app development was at first a bit intimidation but then I start to see things I had in the past and that made things much easier. I find it interesting to learn something new and I myself find it easier to learn something new when you dive right into it instead of going slowly because it forces me to pick things up quick or else be left behind. This to me is the way I seem to lean things more efficiently. After the slides that we were going over ended we were ready to dive in to the Android Studio but the computer were not. Downloading took forever and the whole class seemed to have that problem. It is expected since it was the first week. The next few weeks should run more smoothly and I look forward them.

The first week of the MobilityFirst workshop was very interesting. What it did to me and many of our classmates was plant a seed in our head. We learned that the Internet is do dependent on various factors that make it really complicated. It made me at least realize that in a way the Internet is still handicapped. It made me think what a world without having to deal with ISP’s and the limitations of IP would be and how we can change it. To me the idea of giving more importance towards mobility seemed common sense but as we dove further into the subject I realize that it has to be something extremely complicated since the internet hasn’t change much at all after so many years.
